Today the 7th day of December, the oil city of Omoku town and other adjourning towns within Ogba/ Egbema/ Ndoni local government area of Rivers State will be witnessing a peace rally which is organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN in conjunction with the International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA.According to Amb. Emma Nkweke, who is expected to deliver a motivational speech at the event, he said the event promises to promote peace in the local government which has suffered violence before this time. He said considering that there is a rerun election coming up in the state as well, the event will go a long way in preaching peace to the people.
Amb. Bright Abali said he is calling on all youth groups in the local government to seize the opportunity of the event to embrace peace in the local government area.
Guests expected at the event include Primate Isaac Anyanasikike, the Rivers state Chairman of CAN, Apostle Amb. Promise Ebenezar Chairman CAN, Ogba/ Egbema/ Ndoni ONELGA.
Other activities for the day include special honours to people whose activities have ledto the restoration of peace in the LGA.
